The Greatest Antioxidants in Your Kitchen

By Rebecca

During the wintertime, eating antioxidant-rich foods eliminates potentially cancer-causing free radicals from your bodily systems, adding energy and nutrition to your body and calm to your mind. Here are five ingredients packed with all the antioxidants you’ll need for enough energy to weather the cold weather well!

Chia Seeds: Packed with healthy omega oils, easily digestible protein, and antioxidants, chia seeds may help with diabetes, hypoglycemia and celiac disease. At Urban Remedy we love chia seeds in our Chai meal replacement smoothie. Mmm spiced deliciousness!

Vanilla: It’s not just an ice cream flavor people!

Vanilla is a powerful antioxidant. For full vanilla flavor, nothing beats our Urban Remedy cookies, full of nutrition, enough to snack on any time of day!

Black Currants: Black currants contain phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, essential fatty acids, and minerals. Sprinkle some dried currants on any salad for added nutrition and beautifully bright tartness.

Cacao: Chocolaty and delicious cacao is antioxidant-rich with essential minerals like magnesium and iron. Delicious in brownies or brittles, this super-food is super-scrumptious.

Garlic: Garlic promotes the well-being of the heart and immune systems with its nutrition and antioxidant properties. It also helps maintain healthy blood circulation. At Urban Remedy, our kale chips pack all that garlic-y goodness into one simple snack.

Fuel your body with antioxidant-rich foods this wintertime and hibernate happy!
