POSITION SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will develop, implement and enforce security and food safety standards, policies, and programs including HACCP, SQF and GFSI, regulatory audits, food safety training programs, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), product inspections, and standardized work instructions.

The Senior Manager of Food Safety & Quality Assurance is accountable for providing leadership and oversight to the quality and sanitation functions at the Richmond, California Product Facility in order to assure product conformance to specification, food safety, GMP, HACCP & Good Laboratory Practices and meets industry requirements. This position provides leadership in the development, auditing & expansion of Quality & Sanitation programs & practices. This position supports the Urban Remedy Standards and promotes the Company’s success by ensuring consumer protection, product satisfaction, supply chain integrity, and operational efficiencies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the Quality department colleagues, assuring an effective & strong audit function.
  • Provide ongoing opportunities to collaborate and expand knowledge/skills to maximize QA employee’s performance, achievement of company goals and job retention.
  • Direct and manage all quality & sanitation functions within UR Quality Management Standards, UR Quality Policy and business processes.
  • Develop and implement effective quality systems to improve product conformance and food safety.
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints to determine root causes, provide responses, and determine corrective and/or preventative actions.
  • Research technical and regulatory issues and draft company position statements.
    Provide support/guidance for the QA labs & production areas to include training in food safety (GMP, HAACP, allergens, and other topics).
  • Audit, implement and manage systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (organic, GMPs,)
  • Primary site contact for all raw material and packaging suppliers.
  • Manage the vendor non conformance process to assure corrective action and contract compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement throuout the supply chain by managing supplier qualification and the sampling, examination, testing, and approval of procured materials to assure compliance to UR standards.
  • Provide support of all internal and external audits.
  • Manage quality and process improvement activities.
  • Play a major role n the responsibilities associated with launching multiple new products within timelines.
  • Responsible for all documentation for Quality & Sanitation processes. Responsible for all tracking of KPI’s associated with Quality & Sanitation.
  • Conduct process and equipment validations.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • A minimum of 5-10 years experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing in a plant and lab environment.
  • 5+ years of management experience in a fast paced food-manufacturing environment.
  • Understands SQF initiatives, GMS Safe, and other industry standards.
  • Develops effective working relationships with all internal and external customers as well as effective supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in microbiology or food science. Additional training and qualifications is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Looking for an experienced Logistics Senior Manager who will provide hands-on leadership in a busy distribution center/warehouse environment with emphasis on customer service, team building and ownership. This person is responsible for creating and implementing projects of medium to large scope and complexity, leads all administrative and coordination activities on projects to ensure success, including project planning, resource allocation, quality assurance and analysis of impacted systems and processes. This position oversees the Shipping Team Members, who in turn provide daily direction to Packout, Shipping, Delivery Routes, and management of third-party shipping partners.​  The role will ensure compliance and adherence to all applicable internal and regulatory requirements for Occupational Safety and Health as well as for Food Safety standards. The position will oversee staffing of Logistics as well as execution/adherence to the facility maintenance budget.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining and upholding the safety and quality standards of the organization and those set by industry.
  • Ensuring that all logistics activities in the facility are appropriately carried out.
  • Keeping and maintaining all shipping & receiving records for the warehouse.
  • Ownership of all forklift activities including training, servicing/maintenance of equipment and tracking of pre-trip documentation.
  • Interacting with other departments to ensure the proper flow of materials into and out of all areas of the facility.
  • Ensuring compliance of all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules while conducting work functions.

Urban Remedy is recruiting a driver for our retail and wholesale program. The driver will work as part of a team to pack out and deliver fresh organic food and juice to local stores throughout the Bay Area. Candidates should have warehouse and packing experience, be a quick learner, team player, and possesses strong attention to detail. It is critical for the driver to be highly reliable, responsible, and resource driven. This is a fast paced job so the candidate must be able to multitask and work under pressure.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Read and check accuracy of items picked for each order according to each packing list
  • Make deliveries in our refrigerated cold trucks on time and safely
  • Proper placement and care of meals when distributed to sites, including ensuring appropriate temperature levels for all food.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area
  • Delivery equipment maintenance
  • Work in fast paced environment
  • Additional related tasks as necessary

MUST BE WILLING TO:

  • Morning shifts 4 AM-12 PM. Sometimes may be a 2 AM or 3 AM start.
  • Safely maneuver and operate 16-foot box truck.
  • Stay organized and pay attention to detail
