In Support of Fruit!

By Rebecca

The Well section of the NYTimes just ran a piece in support of fruit! Here at Urban Remedy we are major fruit supporters. Here is a list of our favorite fruits, and what makes them so full of nutrition.

Bananas:

Bananas are one of the best sources of potassium, an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood pressure. They’re the perfect fruit to eat after a workout, first thing when you wake up in the morning, in a juice, or just as a snack any ol’ time of day! Normal blood pressure keeps your circulation steady, providing your body with an even flow of oxygen and therefore energy through your entire day. Another fun potassium fact? This mineral aids muscle cramping, so ladies, you know when you’ll need ’em. At Urban Remedy we love bananas in our Chocolate Banana smoothie and our brittles.

Blueberries:

Blueberries are full of antioxidants that reduce the kind of cell damage possibly responsible for cancer development. Talk about a superfood! That’s not their only claim to fame… Blueberries also improve your vision and promote weight control. Whether you drink them down in a juice or yummy smoothie, or just grab a handful on the go, blueberries are a fantastic fruit to add to your diet because they are so full of nutrition. We love sipping on some blueberries in our Green Berry smoothie. Sweet and super!

Raspberries:

Nature’s sweet tarts, raspberries purify the blood and benefit the liver and kidneys. Pure blood carries increased levels of oxygen to your organs, naturally boosting energy, while a healthy liver and kidneys amplify your body’s detoxing efficiency. Sounds fabulous to us! You can find raspberries in our Warrior juice as well as our PB&J smoothie. Drink your way to better nutrition.
