Ingredient Spotlight: Seeds

By Rebecca

At Urban Remedy we love seeds. Full of nutrition, antioxidants and omega oils, seeds are wonderful additions to any juice or salad. They add that extra boost of healthy. Here are three types of seeds we can’t live without.

Chia Seeds: Chia seeds have healthy omega oils, easily digestible protein and antioxidants and may help with diabetes, hypoglycemia, and celiac disease. At Urban Remedy we love the nutrition that chia seeds add to our Chocolate Banana meal replacement shake. Such a sweet, healthy treat!

Flaxseed: Whether blended into a smoothie or toasted and tossed over a fresh kale salad, flaxseed is a wonderful source of fiber. Hailing from ancient Babylon, flaxseed is a long-cherished ingredient sure to steady digestion and possibly even reduce risk of heart disease and diabetes.

Sesame Seeds: Sesame seeds make a great bagel topping and also work wonders for eliminating bad cholesterol and reducing high blood pressure through their great nutrition. Imagine that! Our Urban Remedy kale chips are covered in sesame seeds, and we can’t get enough!

Looking to shake things up? Try sprinkling some seeds over your next meal, and watch your health blossom!
