Urban Remedy Watermelon Margarita recipe

A refreshing and easy cocktail to show off your mixing skills.

1 bottle UR Watermelon Cucumber juice

1/4 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt

3 oz fresh lime juice (5 to 6 limes)

3 tablespoons St. Germain Elderflower liqueur

3/4 cup Casa Amigos Reposado Tequila

Mix all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir well.

Serve immediately or chill for an hour or two. Serve over ice. Garnish with sprig of mint, lime wedge, and small slice of watermelon. Makes 3 one cup servings.

The health benefits of watermelon are plentiful. It contains more of the antioxidant lycopene than fresh tomatoes. It’s more than 91 percent water, so it’s great on a hot summer day and is a tasty way to help you stay hydrated. Watermelon is described in Chinese medicine as affecting the heart, bladder and stomach. It clears heat and is cold in nature. The juice nourishes the fluids of the body. Himalayan pink salt is rich in minerals, which also support proper hydration. And lime juice contains flavonoids which carry antioxidant properties. Elderflower is known for reducing the duration of colds and flu and supporting the lungs. When you combine these amazing ingredients with our favorite Casa Amigos tequila, you are as good as gold!

This tasty cocktail pairs perfectly with our picnic item Summer Rolls: a rice paper wrap filled with fresh mint, sweet potato, beets, carrots, and kale with a ginger-jalapeño dipping sauce.
