Ingredient Spotlight: Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Rachael Ray isn’t the only foodie in love with EVOO. Here at Urban Remedy we know that extra virgin olive oil contains tons of nutrition, phytonutrients like polyphenols that protect against inflammation, an underlying cause of many health issues. With lower inflammation, you’re less likely to feel that achy stiffness of winter, for a season full of energy and cheer!

Why Extra Virgin? Extra Virgin refers to the grade of oil you are getting. Extra virgin olive oil is the highest grade olive oil, equipped with the purest and freshest olive flavor. Mmm!

Where can you use extra virgin olive oil? Pretty much anywhere you would normally use butter. Also, if butter is just too near and dear to your heart to lose, try using a half butter/half EVOO combo to get that same buttery taste with less calories and fat and added nutrition. At Urban Remedy we love extra virgin olive oil on our kale chips, the perfect crunchy salty snack on a cozy winter’s day.
