Living Love

By Megan

valentine hand over heart

The word LOVE gets slapped onto everything for Valentine’s Day, and some of us romantics get swept away by heart-shaped chocolates and the notions behind romantic love. Love is everywhere, not just on “the day of love,” but always. Gandhi said it well,

“Where there is love there is life.”

Love is what nourishes us. It keeps us in connection with our own joy. It energizes our actions; it gives meaning to our work; and it opens our eyes to what is true and dear.

Step outside the box this Valentine’s Day. What are the areas in your life that need more love? Is it your relationships with others, your relationship with yourself, or your relationship to how you live overall?

Let love be your intention and bring each moment back to this: “Am I living from a place of love?”

Random acts of loving kindness. You don’t have to go out of your way to do kind things for others, but when you do, your heart will grow fuller.

Nourish yourself with passionate and vibrant foods. Beets, radishes, strawberries, honey, cashews and cacao are healing, energizing, and satisfying foods that promote inner peace and vitality. Simply by taking the time to feed yourself well, you promote inner balance. The energy of love flows more easily through a body that is well balanced.

Give the gift of health to those you love. A fresh cut, wild bouquet of something beautiful that grows locally. A basket of healing foods to nourish your loved one. A warm oil massage with their favorite essential oil (hint: pure rose oil is associated with physical and spiritual love). Share your heart with a handwritten letter, when you feel love, say it proudly!

Love mantras for any day of the year:

-I am whole, strong and capable of giving and receiving love.

-I trust my inner wisdom and choose to act from a place of grace, harmony and intention.

-I am love and I live in abundance.

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all!
