On double duty patrol, vitamin C also has antioxidant properties that benefit the body’s general wellness. As vitamin C travels through the body, it neutralizes free-radical cells that, left alone, can disrupt healthy cell production, leading to swelling, inflammation, and in severe cases, cancer.
